Cartoon Sunday: BEWARE! The Curse Of The Banshee!

How's it going my gumdrops? Last night, did you remember to turn your clocks ahead 1 hour? Spring is coming around the corner, which is why it is best to be prepared to "SPRING forward."

BTW: If you have not already done so, make sure to like, subscribe, share, and +1 blogs from OMG, Anna! What's Going On?!

This can be done via facebook, Google Plus, Blogger, or other social media sites such as World of Anime. Otherwise, there is always subscribing by e-mail.

Also, for those who don't know how to find previously published blogs from my website, It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns, all the blog links are currently in neon green font. You can't miss these links. I post links in bright bold colors to make them highly visible for everyone to see.

With that being said, here is yesterday's Song Saturday blog once again, in case you missed it.

Song Saturday: Primordial's Hosting Of The Sidhe {REVISITED}

Speaking of World of Anime, I was asked on the Anime-centric social media site about why I did not publish a blog specifically about International Women's Day.

Last month, I wanted to publish a blog about Women In Horror. Considering my hectic schedule offline with doing chores, attending doctor and dental appointments, and being a personal caregiver, there was not enough time.

Most people have no idea the amount of times I have backburned things I really wanted and needed to do both on and offline. I still have yet to return to revising and editing my own Short Horror Stories.

Let's also not forget, that I have published at least several blogs about women on here and It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns within the last week to 2-5 years. Therefore, me not publishing a blog about International Women's Day was nothing too severe.

Since we are on the topic of International Women at this very second, I will have you know, that if you clicked on my blog link about Irish Horror Folktales, I specifically chose to focus on WOMEN from those folktales.

Basically, I killed "2 birds with 1 stone" so to speak regarding the matter of International Women and Horror Folktales. That particular blog was linked inside of yesterday's blog above, in the bold neon green font.

In addition to those previously published blogs on OMG, Anna! What's Going On?! and It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns, you can expect to see more blogs about women in Irish Horror Folktales.

This includes today's Cartoon Sunday blog about the banshee. The banshee was another woman, who was a part of Irish Horror Folktales.

In March 2016, I published a Song Saturday blog on It's Not All Gumdrops & Unicorns explaining about her. However, I never shared a Cartoon Sunday blog about the banshee, until now.

Sapphire from Snarled shared an animated vlog enlightening viewers about such an appalling woman. Megan Matheson from Scotland told Sapphire in disturbing detail about her terrifying encounter in real life with the banshee. For today's Cartoon Sunday, be prepared to be creeped out.

Cartoon Sunday: Mr. Nightmare's True Pizza Delivery Horror Story

How's it going lurkers? If you ask yours truly, I feel haunted houses and paranormal activity are more terrifying than monsters, unless they are Gremlins.

We all know those skeptics, who don't believe in ghosts or much of anything that can't be proven based on science. This may be difficult to believe, but science is NOT  the answer to everything.

A few years ago, I started reminiscing about the Scooby-Doo franchise. In fact, I happened to be watching a Scooby-Doo TV series. As an adult, I realized just how incredibly skeptical the overall franchise has been over the last 48 years.

Did you EVER notice that every time the characters on Scooby-Doo had to solve supernatural and paranormal related mysteries, there were ALWAYS arguments to disprove that supernatural and paranormal phenomena existed?

Growing up as a little girl during the 1980's and '90s, I was annoyed by the skepticism. I understand, that CBS and Hanna-Barbera wanted to appease the parent watch groups, in order to prevent more protesting during the '60s, but they actually helped promote and validated skeptics.

I will even go as far as saying that CBS, Hanna-Barbera, and many other companies caused the last 3-4 generations to grow up as skeptics.

Ad nauseam, they must disprove EVERYTHING that doesn't fit their skeptical narrative about something being SCIENTIFICALLY PROVEN.

Do you remember Charles Riborg Mann and George Ransom Twiss' book Physics?

In the 1910 book, they asked: "When a tree falls in a lonely forest, and no animal is near by to hear it, does it make a sound? Why?"

The question was supposed to be about physical point of view.

However, I believe it was a question made to validate and promote other people's denial of something OR someone's existence with more skepticism.

This can ESPECIALLY  be said about those, who refuse to acknowledge supernatural and paranormal phenomena. Let's use the Scooby-Doo franchise as an example.

In the original cartoon from 1969, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You? Fred, Velma, and DAPHNE did NOT  believe in ghosts and monsters.

By the end of each episode, all 3 characters were ALWAYS validated to make it seem like those, who DID believe in ghosts and monsters needed to be patronized by a shrink.

You may be saying, "Anna, you're overthinking this. It's only a cartoon."

Scooby-Doo may be a cartoon, but it is a cartoon that has hidden messages in it. You really have to read between the lines so to say and pay close attention to the underlying messages.

Granted, it can be argued that Hanna-Barbera did not want to traumatize children with supernatural and paranormal phenomena. At the same time, the characters and the writing in this cartoon appear as being skeptical and wanting to ALWAYS disprove the existence of something or someone.

Anybody, who believes in supernatural and paranormal phenomena, are viewed as being crazy and delusional because skeptics bought into George Berkeley's philosophical lies about "immaterialism."

Immaterialism in philosophy is basically the metaphysical DENIAL of the existence of the material world. In other words, it's just your imagination; It's ALL in your head.

If some skeptics have not learned much of anything from today's blog, you should at least realize that just because you didn't see or hear something or someone, doesn't mean that something or someone does NOT  exist.

This next creepy story is another true pizza delivery story. It comes from YouTube's Mr. Nightmare. Mr. Nightmare's story was turned into an animation by Llama Arts.

In this paranormal story, Mr. Nightmare does his pizza delivery to a hidden house near the woods at night. Anyway, here's his true pizza delivery story for today's Cartoon Sunday.

LET THE SKEPTICISM BEGIN!

Cartoon Sunday: The Real Ghostbusters

How's it going lurkers? Last week, I forgot to mention that Blue Exorcist is actually getting another season! This is fantastic news for us fans!

Hopefully with a 2nd season, there will be more exploration about the character, Renzo Shima.

The finale for this Supernatural Shonen Jump Action Anime felt incomplete much like a cliffhanger. Even though Rin Okumura is the protagonist, I still am quite fond of Renzo Shima.

He and Rin Okumura are my favorite characters from Blue Exorcist. Shima wants to act like he is a Don Juan YET  he's a cowardly character, who's always scared of everything. That is always hilarious to watch.

Nearly 2 years ago, I remember reading a summary about the Blue Exorcist Manga and its characters.

If memory serves me right, Renzo Shima becomes a double agent and is very skilled with his weapons.

If this is true in the Blue Exorcist Manga, maybe Shima hides the fact that he's a lethal agent from everyone. Hopefully the Blue Exorcist Anime shows that Renzo Shima is a double agent for Season 2.

Meanwhile, are you feeling nostalgic for the 1984 Ghostbusters movie franchise? If so, there's more '80s nostalgia for you today.

Last night, I was able to locate the Ghostbusters cartoon I grew up watching during the 1980's. If you are at least in your mid-30's like myself, you should remember The Real Ghostbusters.

The Real Ghostbusters debuted in 1986, which was 2 years after the original Ghostbusters movie. I CANNOT  believe that it has been nearly 30 years, since I last watched this '80s classic!

Being able to understand a childhood cartoon as an adult is the best part about re-watching it!

Whenever I re-watch a movie or  TV show from my youth, it is more like viewing something without blinders over my eyes; It's like being a virgin to that show or movie all over again.

There are more times, when I re-watch a show or movie and think to myself, "I don't remember this happening. When did this happen?" or "Hmm, I never thought of it that way."

While re-watching The Real Ghostbusters' pilot "Ghosts R Us," I started realizing how much the animated illustration for Dr. Egon Spengler resembles some of the characters we always see in today's Japanese animation (Anime).

This made me question if those, who did the illustrations were Japanese and/or possibly Korean.

After watching the ending credits scroll during the end of "Ghosts R Us," I saw a lot of Japanese names listed for the animation. This explained a lot to me.

Even though The Real Ghostbusters was an American cartoon, some of the characters resembled Japanese illustrations. The illustration for Dr. Egon Spengler was an automatic dead giveaway for yours truly.

It's amazing how much you can learn by watching Japanese animation! Things that make you go hmm...

Okay, now I am REALLY showing my age here. Anyway, if you have NEVER had the chance to watch The Real Ghostbusters circa 1986, you now have the chance for today's Cartoon Sunday.
